Ok what are we voting for in this election?  Just the mayor and some other council member posts?  Are there any corporate tax incentives or what not also on this thing?  It would be nice to have a website show what the ballot will look like so a little googling could be done beforehand.

During the New Deal, FDR and the Democrats benefited by claiming that the USA had a “mature economy” that no longer could grow like it once did.

I guess they were wrong about that.

What if the crisis of 2008 represents something much more fundamental than a deep recession? What if it’s telling us that the whole growth model we created over the last 50 years is simply unsustainable economically and ecologically and that 2008 was when we hit the wall — when Mother Nature and the market both said: “No more.

But I’m sure this President’s conveyors of fear are correct.

Oh and great message guys. “Don’t grow and prosper” “The best times are behind us” “We must all suffer because a company turned a profit” “You’ll never see the life you used to have”

Article here. It’s really nothing special except for the below contribution.

The United States government today announced that it is changing its national symbol to a CONDOM because it more accurately reflects the governments political stance.

A condom allows for inflation, halts production, destroys the next generation, protects a bunch of pricks, and gives you a sense of security while you’re actually being screwed.

To my fellow Americans, it really doesn’t get much more accurate than this.

Education Secretary Duncan is set to save tens of millions dollars more by cutting an ineffective mentoring program for students, a program whose mission is being carried out by 100 other programs in 13 other agencies.

From his comments today about his budget.  So does anybody else see it??  I guess if you have 101 ineffective programs all following the same ineffective mission then cutting one of them is a great idea.  Way to shake it up commander.

But the Medicare drug plan passed anyway in 2003 when Republicans controlled the White House and Congress. So it was hardly novel this week when Republicans protested vigorously that their legislative rights had been violated as the Democratic-led Congress pushed through the $787 billion economic stimulus bill with just three Republican votes in the Senate. Only the party labels had changed.

That’s about right.  The only change Obama was ever going to bring was from the right to the left.  He never meant to really reform or change anything.  It’s Washington as usual, and now Drew will have to pay for both this idiot and the last idiot’s mistakes.

Ok it’s day one of the stimulus.  Where’s the utopia, where’s my tax cut, why is the market still down?  I’ll try posting a comment on mikey moore’s and the moveon sites to see if they have any answers.

John Maynard Keynes. Born 1883, Died 1946

i’m sure i’m the only one that thinks this is funny but…

1) The “New Hope” changer/savior came into town, and is still fighting for a plan.  A plan based on theories from a guy that’s been dead 63 yrs, and in 63 years we still don’t know that this stuff has ever worked. See American history 30’s – 70’s, Russia till the fall ….and Japan in the 90’s, just to name a few examples…

2) AND the guy wasn’t even American.  oh the patriotism! We’ll steal your economic theory but you won’t see a dime of our $1.2 tribilzon package.  Buy American 4 Life!!

Who needs The Daily Show, or Colbert when it’s just as amusing to watch CSPAN.  At least my guy was American, and has only been dead for a couple years.

nobody in the fed really likes this guy.  he pops off about stuff that’s against the status quo.  but things are bad and we need somebody to say the hard stuff that nobody else will.
