so 30 us representatives got together and drafted this resolution.

it started on 7/31/08 in committee #1

moved on 8/1/08 to committee #2

moved back to committee #1 on 8/17/08
started talking about it at 3:54pm
    moved to debate at 3:55pm
after 21 minutes of “debate” they realized that a quorum was not present and suspended action on the resolution

in a nutshell it would be a piece of paper recognizing north platte, nebraska, as `Rail Town USA’.  now i know i work with cost estimates all day and by default anything i do or read i think about how much it costs, but it doesn’t take a genius to think about how many people touched this resolution and how many minutes each person spent on it and the value of each minute of that persons time.  i paid for 21 minutes of debate that only concluded that not enough people were present to vote anyway.  i didn’t bother to see who started this resolution or what party they are loyal to.  i do believe though that they and all their staff and the 29 cosponsors should be fired.  who cares what side they are on, fire all of them.

    UPDATE:
9/18/09 resolution was brought back out and it was agreed that it was unfinished business, then it was voice voted that they should suspend the quorum rules and allow a vote. the motion to suspend the rules and the motion to pass the resolution both passed.

they really couldn’t do this the day before during the 21 minutes of counting the people in the room. fire Adrian Smith and the 29 other idiots. and give me my money back too. i’m sure nebraska is great but i don’t want to pay for their marketing slogan development. i won’t even go into how all this was just committee level and still must go to the floor to be real law and the precedent that they are setting with allowing the suspension of the rules.
